Many Of Horror (Biffy Clyro, 2009)

When I first heard this song, I never imagined it would literally fulfill what it professed, namely thorough the line: " When you hit me, hit me hard." That's because at first, I now confess, I did not pay that much attention to the lyrics.Thus, it took a while until it stuck and, then, only with a closer listening, I took it all in - and it did hit hard.  The song title itself has a rather interesting background. Apart from being an unusual one, which sometimes can draw people to great pieces of music (because, come on!, who isn't curious about what hides behind any strange title?), it still remains at the head of a composition that touches serious (relationship) problems. To my mind, they couldn't have come up with a better title. It, somehow, fits the song like a glove and gives one a glimpse into its general mood and into the theme represented. Don't Look Back In Anger (Oasis,1995)

Despite being one year younger than me, this song took its time to find its way into my head. When it finally got to my heart, I have to admit it also got its place into my forever playlist. It happened as it was supposed to happen: when I needed most to be reminded that I shouldn't let anger consume all I had become. Before I try to explain my favourite part of this song, I find myself obliged to offer some context about the band itself and their influences. The band was originally called Rain, but the name was changed to Oasis at Liam Gallagher's suggestion. " This change was inspired by an   Inspiral Carpets   tour poster that hung in the Gallagher brothers' bedroom. One of the venues the poster listed was the   Oasis Leisure Centre   in   Swindon ."
